Created by Emmett Leader and Nili Simhai in conjunction with Hazon’s Shmita Prizes, this set of seven ceramic bowls speaks to the seven-year shmita cycle and facilitates a meaningful countdown to its arrival. Each bowl is color-coded, providing a heightened awareness of shmita’s approach and allowing one time to prepare as the long-awaited seventh year approaches. The seventh bowl, which marks the shmita year, is inscribed with the shmita harachaman, a blessing created by Leader and Simhai to herald and honor the shmita.
